Former Below Deck star Kate Chastain has a lot to celebrate this holiday season as it marks her first Christmas as a mom, but fans are still wondering if she is married and the identity of her baby’s father.
A year has flown by since Below Deck alumna Kate Chastain announced her pregnancy in December 2022 with a photo of her baby bump. The former Chief Stew became a staple on the Bravo show, with cameras documenting her personal and professional life. Since welcoming her child, the question of whether she is married resurfaces every few months and we’ve got the answer.

Is Kate Chastain from Below Deck married in 2023?
Kate has rarely revealed details about her relationship status lately, but according to her Instagram, she is not married. She is single and focused on mom life.
In October 2022’s Bravocon, Chastain dispelled rumors once and for all. “I’m single too, you guys,” the former Bravo star revealed. At the time of writing, Kate has not revealed who the baby’s father is.
On Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live aftershow, she revealed to the Bravo boss and fans that she’s planning on raising her son, Sullivan Cay, alone. “I’m doing it solo and perhaps with some help, but I’m happy to do it alone,” the 40-year-old said.
While Kate is single at the moment, she does have a dating history that many Below Deck fans are well-versed with.
A look at Kate’s dating history and ‘baby daddy’ rumors
Kate quickly became a fan favorite upon her season 2 debut in 2014. She remained a major cast member until her departure in season 7.
The yachting veteran famously dated chef Ben Robinson in the early seasons of the show, leading fans to draw similarities between Kate’s baby and Ben. Viewers speculate the chef is the father due to their alleged resemblance but the mother of one hit back at rumors while seemingly poking fun at her ex.
“For the record, the only thing this handsome guy [baby] has in common with any chef is the tendency to get emotional around meal times,” she tweeted.
In season four, Kate revealed that she had started dating a woman named Ro Hernandez.
Hernandez is a former professional soccer player from Madrid, Spain. In a now-deleted tweet from 2016, Kate posted a picture of herself kissing Ro and wrote in the caption: “I’m not gay…..but my girlfriend might be.”
The relationship did not last very long and the Bravolebrity revealed in season 6 that she had started seeing someone else outside of the public eye. Their breakup was allegedly down to job stress and extended time away from her partner.
In Below Deck season 7, she also got cozy with a Swedish sailor named Morton.
Why did Kate leave Below Deck?
Kate ditched the Seven Seas for a land-based role behind the cameras in February 2020. It was not the end of her Bravo career as she became a co-host and an executive producer on Bravo’s Chat Room.
“I intend to step back as a senior member of the Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen,” she announced.
Endeavors outside of the channel include Peacock’s The Traitors and Project Runway.
